My name is Melissa Matarese, I am a practicing, local artist. I was born on Long Island, NY and raised in Doylestown, PA. Thus far in my life I have lived and studied in places such as Carlsbad, CA, Mangawhai, New Zealand, Portland, ME and Philadelphia, PA. My love for travel and exploration has helped me develop a unique style and vision. My inspiration to create is found in the everyday, natural beauty of this world; from the trees we walk past everyday to the natural wonders and wildlife untouched by man to the beauty of the human form. My works are not an exact replica of the subject but instead a colorful, detailed visual interpretation.
