TruMark Financial sponsored a soccer clinic for 60 students from Philadelphia’s Baldi Middle School on Wednesday, October 11, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at PPL Park, Chester, Pa. Students took to the field with Philadelphia Union coaches who offered students training advice and coaching, as they ran through different activity stations. Union goalkeeper John McCarthy was also on hand to talk with the students following the clinic.
The clinic was awarded by TruMark Financial to the students of Baldi Middle School in recognition of their outstanding efforts to raise awareness about financial literacy throughout their school and the surrounding community. Baldi Middle School partners with TruMark Financial in their annual Kiss-A-Pig Financial Literacy Fundraiser. So far this year, the school has raised more than $1,500 to support TruMark Financial’s personal finance program, aptly titled “Building Financial Futures.”
Throughout the year, the credit union holds fundraisers to support schools in need of personal finance resources. Proceeds of the fundraisers enable schools to purchase resources needed to teach students about financial responsibility. The Kiss-A-Pig Financial Literacy Fundraiser, held in the fall, is one component of Building Financial Futures.
